Macrotech Developers’ shares dropped 5% on January 22, 2025. The fall follows a trademark dispute between brothers Abhishek and Abhidandan Lodha. Abhishek, CEO of Macrotech, filed a lawsuit in Bombay High Court. He seeks to restrain Abhidandan from using the “Lodha” brand. The dispute stems from a 2015 family settlement. They divided their real estate empire, with Macrotech led by Abhishek and House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL) by Abhidandan. Legal proceedings began when Abhishek argued that Abhidandan’s company, HoABL, breached the agreement. They used the “Lodha” name for business. The court referred the case to a larger bench due to its pecuniary jurisdiction. The damages involved exceed ₹100 crore. Macrotech’s market capitalization stands at over ₹1 lakh crore. Investors keenly await Macrotech’s Q3 results on January 25.
