Goldman Sachs predicts India will lead emerging markets in 2025. The country’s strong fundamentals support this outlook. These include stable macroeconomics, better trade terms, effective inflation control, and reliable domestic capital. Analysts expect annual earnings growth of 18-20% for the next 4-5 years. Private investments, corporate balance sheet recovery, and higher discretionary spending will drive this growth.
Policy reforms are also crucial. The Maharashtra election results have boosted confidence in the government’s plans. These include eliminating the primary deficit, increasing infrastructure spending, reforming GST and direct taxes, signing free trade agreements, and prioritizing energy transition. Fiscal consolidation and private investment will further strengthen macroeconomic stability.
Even considering global factors like US and China policies and geopolitical events, Goldman Sachs remains optimistic. Analysts project Sensex earnings to grow at 17.3% annually through FY27, which is 15% above consensus. They recommend overweight positions in Financials, Consumer Discretionary, Industrials, and Technology, favoring cyclicals over defensives and small-to-mid caps over large caps.
