World leaders have gathered in New Delhi for the G20 Summit 2023. The attendees include:

These leaders are converging in the Indian capital to discuss crucial global issues and foster international cooperation. However, notable absentees from the summit include some prominent figures like Russian President Vladimir Putin and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Despite their absence, the summit promises to be a platform for constructive dialogue and collaboration on pressing global challenges.
Today, New Delhi is abuzz with the 18th G20 Summit, where leaders from around the world have assembled to discuss crucial matters on the agenda.
Over 30 heads of state, top European Union officials, invited guest countries, and 14 leaders from international organizations are in attendance.
India is hosting the G20 Leader’s Summit at the newly inaugurated Bharat Mandapam on September 9-10. The proceedings kick off with world leaders arriving at Bharat Mandapam from 9:30 am onwards.
The first session, ‘One Earth,’ starts at approximately 10:30 am. It is set to be a major point of discussion during the G20 leaders’ summit. This session will primarily focus on accelerating climate action by increasing mitigation efforts and advancing the global agenda for achieving net-zero emissions as soon as possible.
This year’s G20 Summit, under India’s presidency, revolves around the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth – One Family – One Future.” This theme draws inspiration from the ancient Sanskrit text, the Maha Upanishad, emphasizing the value of all life forms, whether human, animal, plant, or microorganism, and their interconnectedness on Earth and beyond.
Following the ‘One Earth’ session and lunch, the summit proceeds to another session titled ‘One Family’ at 3:00 pm.
Later in the evening at 7:00 pm, a dinner hosted by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, will take place. This gathering will include foreign delegates, parliamentarians, current cabinet ministers, and former senior leaders of the nation.
Key leaders attending the event in India’s capital city include US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
However, it’s worth noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are not participating in the weekend summit. China will be represented by Chinese Premier Li Qiang, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will represent Russia.
This marks India’s first time hosting the G20 Summit, and extensive preparations have been made to showcase India’s traditions and strengths.
During its presidency, India has placed emphasis on issues like inclusive growth, digital innovation, climate resilience, and equitable global health access. India aims to achieve the twin goals of including the African Union as a G20 member and resolving disputes regarding a joint statement related to the Ukraine conflict.
The participating countries in the G20 Summit include Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the African Union (represented by Comros), South Africa, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey, Spain, Germany, France, Mauritius, the European Union, and Singapore.
Leaders arriving in New Delhi for the G20 Summit have received a warm welcome. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that this gathering of global leaders will pave the way for human-centric and inclusive development.
