A scam involving Torres Jewelry in Mumbai has left many investors in distress. The owner of Torres Jewelry allegedly fled after defrauding investors of millions of rupees. Investors, who had invested substantial sums, gathered outside the company’s office in Dadar demanding the return of their money.
Initially, Torres Jewelry made regular payments, promising a 10% weekly return on investments. However, payments stopped abruptly two weeks ago, and the company has since gone silent, leaving investors frustrated and without any communication. The total investments reportedly run into crores of rupees.
The Mumbai Police have arrived at the scene and deployed security personnel at the company’s entrance. Investors are demanding the return of their principal amounts, stating they don’t need the interest, just their money back. Reports indicate that the company’s owner is currently residing abroad.
